CHECK OUT SHIRLEY’S POEM ‘A SHORT-LIVED VISIT’ AROUND WINNIPEG

August 13, 2020 — If you happen to take the bus in Winnipeg, or visit Harvey Smith Library on Sargent Avenue, keep an eye out for Shirley’s poem, ‘A Short-Lived Visit.’ The poem is part of a new project from the Winnipeg Arts Council called Winnipeg Words, which features the work of nine poets, selected by inaugural Poet Laureate Di Brandt, displayed on bus posters and in neighbourhood libraries around the city. Shirley is thrilled to be included in this initiative, alongside Di Brandt, Katherina Vermette,  Chimwemwe Undi, Sharanpal Ruprai, Catherine Hunter, Rosanna Deerchild, Charles Leblanc and Winnipeg’s current Poet Laureate, Duncan Mercredi.
